Treasurer report—Dave reviewed treasure report (Attached). Ending assets of $180,200.21 as of September 30, 2024.  Also discussed the renewal of Certificates of Deposit and that we need to review other banks in the area.  Currently have a certificate at MinnWest that is coming due and suggested we look at First Bank & Trust for a better rate.  Also noted on the treasurer report was the bank error and reversal of $29,352.44.  This was incorrectly deposited into our account from another bank customer.  Treasurer report approved

Secretary report—The September 9 report was reviewed and revised to reflect the past and new board members.  Secretary report was approved with revisions.

Topics discussed:

Carp review—discussion to occur with WSB, outside consultants used for carp action plan.  Given the carp kill this past summer with the koi herpes virus, what is left in the lake for carp and what will need to be done.  Paul will check with WSB when it comes to options

Melissa from Scott County Watershed will attend the next meeting.  Looking to review and discuss the 10 year plan for lake management.  What are the options, costs and recreational impact associated with each option.

Buoy placement—Discussed about the incorrect placement of buoys off the point  and the channel in the bay.  To get the correct placement, who do we call next year if they are not in the correct place?

Future Meeting Topics and Business

  • Bruce from Grandview Arbor Association wanted the board to discuss the expansion of their marina from 14 slips to 18. We as a board don't have control of that but evidently the calculations work out for the county to approve them to move forward. They would just like our input in the matter and an acknowledgment of the expansion.
  • Added discussion

Next meeting:  November 4, 2024 at 6:30, New Prague Public Library

Meeting adjourned at 7:13 pm
