April 29, 2024 Board Meeting

Minutes of Board Meetings

Cedar Lake Improvement District (CLID) Meeting Minutes held on April 29, 2024 6:30-8:00 pm at Paul Hoyt’s Garage (due to the New Prague Library not having room availability).

Attendees: Tim Schroeder, Paul Hoyt, Dave Nielsen, Ted Schnaare, Dave Skoglund, Amy Gallagher and John Tuschner and 3 potential new board member candidates

Agenda:

Treasurer’s report

Update on discussions with 3 Rivers Park District on funding assistance

Lake Treatment timing for 2024

Preparation for annual meeting

Carp Project update

Amy updated everyone on the Treasurer’s report.  Major expenses paid for the month were to WSB for the carp project, PLM for lake treatment and Tupy Insurance for annual Liability Insurance premium.

Tim kicked off the meeting advising that lake treatment had been completed by PLM on April 4, 2024.  Patrick from PLM advised that recent testing has shown concentrations are high which means the likelihood for a follow-up treatment are reduced.  Patrick will be conducting a second test this week to verify the prior results and following up with Tim accordingly.

Tim followed continued discussion announcing that discussions with Brian Vlach at Three Rivers had progressed and Three Rivers was able to now able to assist in cost sharing starting immediately with the lake treatment.  This was wonderful news as it will help to offset increasing costs of treatment that the CLID anticipates moving forward.

Paul provided an update on the Carp project with WSB advising that we are still on for spring seining before the end of May.

We finished the meeting with an open discussion with the 3 potential new board members to answer questions and discuss the CLID’s role in the community.  As mentioned, prior Dave Nielsen and Tim Schroeder terms have ended and they will be leaving the board this year.  We need new volunteers to replace them this year and more for the following year.  Tim encouraged all 3 to consider their options and let him know of their decision as soon as possible so that a vote could be taken if they are interested and able to serve.

The meeting adjourned via motion from Tim Schroeder and seconded by Dave Nielsen.  The next meeting will be in early September with date yet to be decided at 6:30 pm at the New Prague Public Library.
